Siegfried has inaugurated a new large-scale active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility in Minden, Germany. The new production plant adds 100 m³ of reactor capacity and expands the company’s ability to support pharmaceutical customers with commercial-scale API manufacturing services.
The facility is intended to strengthen Siegfried’s position as a CDMO focused on small molecule drug substances. According to the company, the expansion increases its capacity to provide complex, scalable and quality-focused API manufacturing solutions for customers across the pharmaceutical industry.
Siegfried said the plant incorporates advanced process technology, automation and high-containment capabilities. Key features include gravity-flow processing, RFID-enabled recipe management and optimized solvent handling systems designed to support efficient, safe and reliable production operations.
The company stated that the new facility forms part of the continued expansion of its global manufacturing network and supports its strategy of strengthening large-scale drug substance manufacturing capabilities. The site is expected to enhance Siegfried’s ability to provide contract manufacturing services for commercial pharmaceutical production.
