SK pharmteco has announced a five-year investment of more than $200 million to expand and upgrade its U.S. development and manufacturing infrastructure across small molecules and peptides. The company said the initiative is part of its broader global strategy to support supply-chain resilience and customer demand.

The investment will include new development laboratories for early- through late-stage small-molecule and peptide development. SK pharmteco will also add GMP kilo-scale peptide manufacturing capacity, scheduled to be operational in late 2026, alongside advanced liquid chromatography capabilities.

The company plans to construct new manufacturing suites and modernize existing GMP capacity for small-molecule APIs. The investment will also cover utility, logistics, and digital infrastructure upgrades, as well as green technology. SK pharmteco expects the multi-year program to create 100 long-term, high-skilled jobs in the U.S.

The U.S. plan follows recent investments by SK pharmteco, including a $6 million investment in its California facility for peptide development, new manufacturing facilities at its Ireland campus, and a $260 million capacity expansion in South Korea for small molecules and peptides.

“This commitment to our domestic operations marks a transformative milestone for SK pharmteco. By expanding our domestic capabilities across small molecules and peptides, we are directly addressing unprecedented demand from our broad customer base.”
