Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the establishment of a new bioanalytical laboratory in GoCo Health Innovation City, Gothenburg, Sweden. This 29,000-square-foot facility, located next to AstraZeneca’s strategic research site, will enhance the company’s global laboratory services.
The new lab will feature advanced instrumentation and offer comprehensive bioanalytical services, including technologies for small and large molecules, biomarkers, and novel modalities. Services will include cell-based assays, chromatography, flow cytometry, immunochemistry, and molecular genomics.
Leon Wyszkowski, president of analytical services for Thermo Fisher Scientific, commented, “We are thrilled to expand our bioanalytical footprint in Europe. Our presence in Sweden will support our customers with accurate and timely data, empowering them to make informed decisions.”
The expansion will create up to 140 new positions, from entry-level to managerial roles. Expected to be operational by late 2025, the lab will provide GLP-compliant bioanalytical services for all phases of drug development.
