Thermo Fisher Scientific Expands Bioprocessing Network Across Asia

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has expanded its bioprocessing capabilities across Asia through the introduction of a new Bioprocess Design Center in Hyderabad, India, and enhancements to its existing centres in Incheon, Korea, and Singapore. The company said the investment supports the region’s growing biopharmaceutical sector, which is driven by rising demand for biologics, vaccines and cell and gene therapies.

The announcement sets out a tri-hub network intended to accelerate process development and bring Thermo Fisher’s expertise closer to customers in Asia. The Incheon facility has been expanded to support collaboration and innovation through advanced materials and technologies. The new Hyderabad centre, developed with the Government of Telangana, will offer process design, simulation and optimisation capabilities using single-use and hybrid systems. The Singapore centre has also been expanded to support bench-to-pilot scale bioprocessing and technical training.

Thermo Fisher stated that the network is designed to provide direct access to innovation, training and technical expertise, helping customers improve agility, scalability and time to market.

The company said its broader capabilities span next-generation sequencing, mass spectrometry and advanced bioprocessing systems, supporting customers across the biopharmaceutical value chain. Tony Acciarito, President, Asia Pacific and Middle East, Africa, said the company aims to contribute to the transformation of Asia’s biopharma ecosystem through manufacturing, partnerships and regional investment.
