WuXi AppTec, a global life sciences and pharmaceutical services company, announced that its Couvet, Switzerland facility has received a silver medal in the 2024 EcoVadis business sustainability ratings. This achievement places the facility in the top 9% of all companies assessed for sustainability practices.
EcoVadis evaluates companies on four key criteria: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. WuXi AppTec’s high score underscores its ongoing commitment to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities into its operations.

The Couvet site, a key element of WuXi AppTec’s Contract Research, Development, and Manufacturing Organisation (CRDMO) business model, specialises in the production of oral solid dosage forms. Designed with energy efficiency in mind, the facility also holds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications for its environmental and health safety management systems.
In addition to the EcoVadis accolade, WuXi AppTec has consistently earned recognition for its ESG performance from global rating agencies, including MSCI and Sustainalytics. The company joined the Science Based Targets initiative in 2023 to reduce carbon emissions and the United Nations Global Compact in 2024, further strengthening its sustainability credentials.
