Porton Advanced Solutions has announced a strategic cooperation with Guangzhou Geneseed Biotech Co., Ltd to enhance the development of circRNA-based therapies. The agreement, effective from July 29, 2024, combines Porton Advanced’s end-to-end cell and gene therapy CDMO services with Geneseed Biotech’s core patented technologies in circRNA drug development.
CircRNA, a promising area in gene therapy, is recognised for its stability and potential in vaccines, rare disease treatments, and anti-tumour therapies. Porton Advanced offers comprehensive services across nucleic acid therapies, including mRNA and circRNA, from preclinical stages to GMP production. Geneseed Biotech contributes with its advanced technology and expertise in circRNA, having developed proprietary circularisation technology.
Liu Ming, founder and CEO of Geneseed Biotech, highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration. “CircRNA is a next-generation RNA platform with significant advantages for drug development,” he said. “Our partnership with Porton Advanced will leverage our respective strengths to accelerate the development and industrialisation of circRNA therapies.”
