Evotec-Bristol Myers Squibb Partnership Hits $25M Milestone in Neurodegenerative Research

  • Evotec SE has received a $25 million milestone payment from Bristol Myers Squibb as part of their ongoing neuroscience partnership.
  • The collaboration aims to develop treatments for neurodegenerative diseases using Evotec’s PanOmics platform.

Evotec SE has received a $25 million milestone payment from Bristol Myers Squibb, marking further progress in their strategic partnership focused on advancing neuroscience programs. This milestone underlines the ongoing success of the collaboration, which began in December 2016 and aims to develop disease-modifying treatments for a range of neurodegenerative conditions.

The partnership leverages Evotec’s PanOmics platform, known for its sophisticated integration of patient-derived disease models. This platform plays a crucial role in identifying treatments that have the potential to slow down or even reverse the progression of neurodegenerative diseases. Since its inception, the collaboration has built a promising pipeline, moving programs from discovery to clinical stages.

One such program, EVT8683, was in-licensed by Bristol Myers Squibb in September 2021 and rebranded as BMS-986419. The partnership was further extended in March 2023, with an additional eight-year commitment to advancing the neuroscience pipeline.

Dr. Cord Dohrmann, Chief Scientific Officer of Evotec, commented on the recent achievement: “The achieved milestone underlines the productive nature of our neuroscience partnership with Bristol Myers Squibb. Using our PanOmics-driven drug discovery platform we are targeting neurodegenerative diseases with tremendous unmet medical need. Beyond BMS-986419, we are very excited to advance yet another program towards the clinic development in 2026.”
