Alfasigma Launches Morpho: Rebranded CDMO Unit Revealed

  • Alfasigma rebrands its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) Business Unit to Morpho.
  • The new identity was announced at CPHI 2024 in Milan, positioning Morpho to capitalise on recent growth and industry leadership.

Alfasigma has rebranded its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) Business Unit as Morpho, a new identity designed to reflect the unit’s growth and leadership in the pharmaceutical sector.

Established in 2017, Alfasigma’s CDMO Business Unit has shown consistent growth, underpinned by decades of expertise in third-party pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.

“The new brand identity Morpho, which in ancient Greek means ‘to give form’, symbolises the evolution of our Business Unit and its ability to adapt and lead in the market,” explained Rocco Paracchini, Director of Alfasigma’s CDMO Business Unit.

Operating across multiple sites, including facilities in Italy and the USA, Morpho will continue to focus on pharmaceutical solutions, including injectables, vaccines, oral solids, and sterile products. The Business Unit’s investment in innovation and process optimisation positions it as a reliable partner for a broad range of pharmaceutical needs.

The Italian pharmaceutical market, one of the largest in Europe, continues to expand, with the CDMO sector generating €2.3 billion in revenue in 2023.

“The Italian pharmaceutical sector is one of the most attractive markets in the EU and ranks among the top five in terms of revenue.” said Fabio Russo, Chief Technical Operations Officer at Alfasigma.

“Our investment in Morpho is part of a broader strategy to strengthen our position in this growing sector,”
