Adragos Pharma has completed a €4 million investment at its Leipzig, Germany facility, significantly increasing its liquid filling capabilities. The project involved the installation of a cGMP-compliant liquid filling line and a cartoning machine, boosting production capacity nearly tenfold.
The newly installed line can process up to 13 million bottles annually across various formats, catering to pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and healthcare supplement markets. As part of the expansion, two existing semi-solid manufacturing lines were relocated to new production areas, which have now been inspected and are fully operational for producing ointments, creams, and gels.
“This new flexible production line marks a key milestone in the development of our Leipzig site, expanding its capabilities and reinforcing our dedication to delivering state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions to our customers,” said Florian Prell, Site Head of Adragos Leipzig.
The Leipzig facility, spanning 13,300 square metres, has been operational since 1926 and specialises in semi-solid and non-sterile liquid pharmaceuticals. Employing over 130 professionals, the site offers galenical dose form development, pilot batch production, commercial supply, and advanced analytical method development, along with global raw material procurement and quality assurance.
