- Alcami Corporation expands cold, stability, and custom storage options at new Garner facility.
- New site offers diverse storage conditions and comprehensive support services.
Alcami Corporation, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has expanded its cold, stability, and custom storage options at its new 65,000 ft² pharma storage facility in Garner, North Carolina. Located near the Research Triangle Park (RTP) biotech and pharma hub, the facility provides customizable, scalable, long-term storage for temperature-sensitive vaccines, biopharma therapies, cell banks, tissues, pharmaceutical compounds, raw materials, components, and medical devices.
âAlcamiâs new facility is well positioned to fill previously unmet market demand,â said Laurent Boer, President, Alcami Pharma Storage and Services. âThe pipeline of complex medicines â exactly the type of ground-breaking products that life science companies in RTP work on â is only increasing. The biopharmaceutical materials and products in these drugs require very specific warehouse conditions that this new facility provides.â
Since opening in January with controlled/ambient storage, the facility now accepts shipments for a range of storage conditions, including stability chamber storage, refrigerated storage, freezer, ultra-low freezer, and cryogenic storage (LN2). The site also offers materials management and support services, including onsite aliquoting/sampling, refrigerated transport, labeling, cycle counting/inventory management, custom kitting, and reference standards management.
The new central North Carolina facility expands Alcamiâs GMP storage network to six U.S. locations across the Northeast, Southeast, and West Coast. The network covers a wide range of GMP temperature storage conditions, from â¤-135ËC to 70ËC, including all ICH stability conditions. This new location further positions the company to address pharma supply chain risk mitigation with storage locations throughout the U.S.
