Dalton Pharma Services has commissioned 3P innovation to develop a fully automated, state-of-the-art high-speed aseptic powder filling line. This development marks a strategic expansion of the collaboration between the two companies, allowing Dalton, based in Toronto, to meet both current and future business requirements for aseptic filling technology.
Jixing Wang, President of Dalton, emphasised the need for this advancement, stating, “Due to increasing customer demand, we needed to further enhance our competencies in speed, quality, and flexibility.” The new technology is expected to solidify Dalton’s position in the market as a key partner in aseptic powder filling.
The decision to adopt the Robotic Fill-Finish (RFF) Cell from 3P innovation was influenced by successful feasibility studies on several challenging powders. The RFF Cell promises increased sterility assurance, reduced risk of product failure, and improved compliance with Annex 1 regulations.
The acquisition of the RFF Cell positions Dalton to cater to a broader segment of the pharmaceutical market and serve a larger global patient population. The system features fully integrated isolators and multiple linked process chambers, offering a compact solution for ready-to-use tubs. The six-chamber system will automate the filling, stoppering, capping, and crimping processes.
3P innovation has confirmed that the first commercial unit of the RFF Cell is currently under construction, highlighting its capability to handle both powder and liquid media filling applications. This move by Dalton Pharma Services is set to address the growing needs of the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring efficient and compliant drug production.
