- The companies have aligned administrative systems, supply chains, and communications while launching a joint website to present their combined manufacturing capabilities.
Gaelic Laboratories and Athlone Laboratories have completed the first phase of integration following their merger in December 2025. The two companies, described as Ireland’s sole GMP-approved manufacturers of Beta-Lactam antibiotics, said the initial integration phase has met objectives related to operational synergies, capability alignment, and market positioning.
The integration process focused on aligning business cultures, technologies, systems, and operations across the two organizations. As part of the milestone, the companies launched a joint website that outlines their combined manufacturing capabilities, finished product formulations, packaging services, contract analytical services, and regulatory expertise.
Together, Gaelic Laboratories and Athlone Laboratories manufacture a range of oral Beta-Lactam antibiotic products supplied to markets including Ireland, the UK, the European Union, the Middle East and North Africa, Canada, and Australia. The companies said the combined platform is intended to provide customers and partners with a clearer view of their integrated service offering.
“The new website effectively lets our customers and partners see the full range of our combined offering to the market. The platform presents the companies’ manufacturing capabilities, formulations, packaging services, contract analytical services, and regulatory expertise across multiple regions.”

According to the companies, operational efficiencies have already been achieved through the alignment of IT systems, compliance functions, and supply chains. An internal communications program, including a new newsletter called “The Capsule,” has also been introduced. Phase 2 of the integration process is underway and will focus on further optimization of manufacturing processes across both sites.
