KD Pharma Group, a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) specialising in pharmaceutical and nutritional lipids, has successfully completed the acquisition of dsm-firmenich’s Marine Lipids business. The transaction, initially announced in July, has been finalised following the receipt of necessary customer regulatory approvals.
The acquisition encompasses dsm-firmenich’s omega-3 fish oil operations for the food and beverage, dietary supplement, and pharmaceutical markets. This includes the MEG-3® brand along with production facilities located in Piura, Peru, and Mulgrave, Canada. In exchange, dsm-firmenich has obtained a minority stake in the expanded KD Pharma Group.

With this acquisition, the KD Pharma Group now employs approximately 710 people and operates seven manufacturing facilities across the UK, Norway, Germany, Canada, Peru, and the US.
