Lifecore Biomedical, Inc. has entered into a manufacturing services agreement with a provider of ophthalmic disease management solutions. Under the agreement, the CDMO will provide process development and technical transfer services to support anticipated commercial manufacturing activities pending regulatory approval.
The program focuses on a next-generation reformulation of a commercially approved ophthalmic product. According to Lifecore, the project involves transitioning the product from vial presentation to pre-filled syringes, a format the company identified as a growing area within the injectable drug market.
Lifecore said the agreement expands its portfolio of late-stage programs and aligns with its capabilities in ophthalmic injectables manufacturing. The company will support development and transfer activities designed to prepare the product for future commercial-scale production.
