Matica Biotechnology, Inc. (Matica Bio) has launched the Accelerated Matica Korea IIT Integrated Platform Solution, a collaborative framework designed to support investigator initiated trials (IITs) and early-stage translational development programs for cell and gene therapy developers. The CDMO said the platform combines clinical capabilities in South Korea with its U.S.-based manufacturing and development services.
The platform was developed in collaboration with a Korean clinical and hospital network and is intended to support investigator initiated trials, translational oncology programs, proof-of-concept studies, IND-enabling CMC activities, and integrated GMP manufacturing and clinical development strategies. Matica Bio said the framework is designed for hospitals, academic institutions, and emerging biotechnology companies.
According to the company, the initiative responds to growing demand for clinical development pathways in Asia. The platform leverages South Korea’s clinical research infrastructure, investigator expertise, regulatory environment, and clinical trial capabilities while connecting sponsors to Matica Bio’s manufacturing, process development, analytical development, assay characterization, and regulatory support services in the United States.
“Global demand for high quality, globally accepted clinical data continues to accelerate, particularly in advanced therapies. Korea has emerged as one of the most strategically positioned environments for investigator initiated and translational clinical studies due to its clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and strong regulatory credibility.”
Paul Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Matica Bio
Matica Bio said the integrated model is designed to streamline coordination between U.S. manufacturing operations and Korean clinical execution. The company stated that it will support programs across technology transfer, process optimization, comparability studies, clinical material manufacturing, and scalable development planning aligned with future global regulatory pathways.
