Serán Bioscience has reached a construction milestone at its new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in northeast Bend, with the completion of the building’s structural framework. The project marks a key step in the development of the site, which will be used to manufacture prescription medicines.
The company plans to produce medicines at the Bend facility and distribute them to pharmacies and patients. According to Serán Bioscience, the plant could employ approximately 200 people within the next few years as operations scale.
Dan Smithey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Serán Bioscience, said the region’s growing pharmaceutical ecosystem and workforce have supported the development of larger projects. He noted that several companies in the area now operate in similar fields, reflecting the sector’s growth over the past decade.
Construction will now move into the interior build-out phase. The facility is scheduled to open in 2027.
