- SK pharmteco has earned four My Green Lab certifications, including two at the highest Green level.
- The certified laboratories are located in Ireland and South Korea, supporting the company’s global sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
SK pharmteco, a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has achieved four My Green Lab certifications across its operations, marking a key milestone in its environmental sustainability strategy. Two of its laboratories reached the program’s highest level, Green, while two others earned Gold certification, representing advanced performance and progress toward full Green maturity.
The certifications cover laboratories in Small Molecule Europe (Swords, Ireland) and Small Molecule Asia (Daejeon, South Korea), including Quality Control, Process Research & Development, and Analytical Research & Development functions.
My Green Lab certification, recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, is considered the global standard for sustainable laboratory practices. The Green level is reserved for laboratories that demonstrate outstanding performance in reducing environmental impact while maintaining scientific excellence.
“Achieving Green and Gold certifications across multiple regions in parallel is not just a compliance milestone; it signals where scientific operations must go next. Sustainability in R&D and quality labs is no longer a side project; it’s a performance expectation.”
Darryl Ratty, Executive Director, Global ESG of SK pharmteco
SK pharmteco began pursuing My Green Lab certification in 2024 and aims to achieve full Green-level maturity across all relevant operations by 2030. The initiative aligns with the company’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on responsible manufacturing, decarbonising operations, and promoting waste reduction.
