Vetter has announced progress in expanding its global clinical manufacturing network, with ongoing investments in both the United States and Europe to support increasing demand for clinical trial materials. The CDMO is scaling its Vetter Development Service offering to provide additional capacity, technology, and expertise for early-stage biopharmaceutical development.
In the United States, Vetter’s site in Skokie, Illinois continues to support clinical development programs, having worked with more than 140 customers and over 350 compounds since opening. The company is also advancing construction of a new 160,000-square-foot facility in Des Plaines, Illinois, which is expected to become operational in 2029 and expand its clinical manufacturing capabilities.
In Europe, Vetter is upgrading its clinical facility in Rankweil, Austria to handle increasing project volumes and complexity. Enhancements include the addition of a weighing room, a new compounding room within the aseptic production area, expanded manual visual inspection capacity, and new cold storage and microbiological testing infrastructure.
The company stated that these developments are intended to support the production of human Investigational Medicinal Products and improve operational efficiency. By aligning its U.S. and European sites, Vetter aims to maintain consistent quality standards and flexible manufacturing processes across its global network.
“By investing in both technology and capacity, we are working to provide our partners with the tailored early-stage manufacturing services they need for their molecules to progress from the lab to the clinic.”
