In a significant advancement for pharmaceutical packaging, West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. has introduced its latest innovation – the Daikyo Crystal Zenith (CZ) Nested Vials in Tub. This product is set to redefine the standards for storing sensitive treatments, particularly in the cell and gene therapy sectors.
The CZ nested vials are engineered to align with the exterior dimensions of the glass standard ISO-8362-1, ensuring a seamless integration into existing pharmaceutical logistics. They are recognized for their robust containment capabilities, especially for treatments requiring cryogenic temperatures. The vials boast superior functional recovery of viral vectors, a low particulate specification of only 2% USP <788>, remarkable break resistance, and minimal risk of chemical interaction.

The CZ vials come in two sizes – 2mL and 10mL – and are designed to accommodate various closure methods, including crimped closures with NovaPure stoppers or PLASCAP press-fit closures with Daikyo stoppers. These options cater to a range of capping requirements, from manual to fully automated processes.
In terms of readiness for use, the nested vials are meticulously prepared with a Tyvek slip sheet, securely heat sealed with a breathable Tyvek lid, double bagged, and sterilized. This meticulous preparation ensures that the vials are ready for immediate use upon delivery, streamlining the pharmaceutical packaging process.
