WuXi AppTec, a Contract Research Development and Manufacturing Organization, announced its new role as a Supplier Partner in the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI). The partnership underlines the company’s dedication to fostering sustainability and resilience across the supply chain.
The PSCI is a prominent global non-profit organisation that supports ethical and sustainable practices within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. By joining the PSCI, WuXi AppTec aligns with its vision of achieving excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes.
Edward Hu, Vice Chairman of WuXi AppTec and Chairman of its ESG Committee, stated, “We are pleased to join the PSCI as a Supplier Partner and reaffirm our commitment to fostering responsible business practices across the global supply chain.” He highlighted the company’s mission to deliver innovative therapies while contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future.
This partnership builds on WuXi AppTec’s strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) credentials. In 2024, the company achieved recognition in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment and received a gold medal from EcoVadis for business sustainability. WuXi AppTec has also joined key initiatives, such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Science Based Targets initiative, to drive progress in reducing carbon emissions.
