WuXi Biologics has completed the topping out of the Drug Product (DP) facility at its Singapore Contract Research, Development and Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO) Hub in Tuas Biomedical Park. The facility is designed to serve international markets and is expected to produce approximately 100 million units of pre-filled syringes and vials annually once operational.
The Singapore Hub is being developed on a 13.5-hectare site and will be built on WuXi Biologics’ proprietary technology platforms. According to the company, the site will add 120,000 liters of manufacturing capacity to its global network while supporting dual-sourcing solutions for biopharmaceutical companies. The company also noted that its subsidiary, WuXi XDC, achieved mechanical completion of its Singapore antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) production facility in 2025.
The approximately 30,000-square-meter modular DP facility will include three pre-filled syringe lines, two vial manufacturing lines for liquid and lyophilized products, centralized quality control laboratories, and Manufacturing Science and Technology laboratories. The facility is intended to support drug product manufacturing for both clinical and commercial programs across multiple dosage forms.
“We are excited to celebrate another major milestone for our Singapore CRDMO hub. This achievement further reinforces our ability to provide global biopharmaceutical companies with a resilient and geographically diversified supply chain, one built on our world-class quality systems, cutting-edge innovation, and operational excellence.”
Dr. Chris Chen, Chief Executive Officer of WuXi Biologics
Operations at the facility are expected to begin in 2027. WuXi Biologics stated that construction of the broader Singapore Hub continues, with the drug substance facility currently in the design phase. The company’s global manufacturing network currently includes 24 drug substance facilities and 18 drug product facilities across China, the United States, Ireland, Germany, and Singapore.
