Platinum Press Inc. (PPI) has announced the completion of a $15 million expansion at its Fort Worth, TX, headquarters. The initiative boosts the company’s total floor space by nearly 50%, reaching 220,000 square feet, and positions the printed packaging solutions provider to address growing customer demand and future industry needs.
The project includes additional space for manufacturing, inventory storage, final product warehousing, and logistics. These enhancements aim to reduce lead times while maintaining the company’s focus on quality. As part of the expansion, Platinum Press increased its workforce to 300 employees.
The investment features the installation of two new Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 X Printing Presses, which are among the first of their kind in the United States. These fully automated machines can produce up to 18,000 sheets per hour, offering both speed and precision. Additionally, the facility now houses a Durst Tau RSCi Digital Press, which produces high-resolution, seven-colour prints using FDA-compliant inks, ideal for indirect food and drug contact.
Andrew Vale, Vice President of Platinum Press, said, “The floorspace expansion and infrastructure investments at our Fort Worth headquarters address both growing customer demands and evolving industry needs. As we simultaneously heighten capacity and extend capabilities across a number of categories, Platinum Press is paving the way for several new product introductions throughout 2024 and beyond.”
