- Lonza and Engitix have entered into a licensing agreement that provides Engitix with access to Lonza’s antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology platform under a single-target license.
- The agreement supports the development of ECM-targeted ADC therapies, with Lonza responsible for manufacturing proprietary technology components and eligible to receive milestone payments and royalties.
Lonza has entered into a licensing agreement with Engitix to support the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for chronic diseases. Under the agreement, Engitix will access Lonza’s ADC technology platform through a single-target license, including the SYNtecan E™ linker-payload technology and the complementary GlycoConnect® and HydraSpace® technologies. The companies said the agreement is intended to advance the development and commercialization of targeted therapies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lonza, through one of its affiliated companies, is eligible to receive upfront, clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, as well as royalties on net sales of resulting products. Lonza will manufacture components related to its proprietary technologies, while Engitix will be responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of the ADCs. The agreement expands collaboration in CDMO and contract manufacturing activities through the application of Lonza’s proprietary ADC platform.
Engitix said its proprietary human extracellular matrix (ECM) platform enables the study of disease biology directly in human tissue by focusing on ECM targets rather than traditional cell surface targets. According to the companies, the collaboration combines this discovery platform with Lonza’s ADC technologies to develop therapeutic candidates designed to selectively deliver potent payloads to tumor-selective targets.

The companies said the licensing agreement supports Engitix’s strategy to build a diversified pipeline of precision therapeutics targeting fibrosis, oncology, and other diseases associated with pathological tissue remodeling.
