SIRIO Pharma Invests €16 Million in New Packaging Facility Near Berlin

  • SIRIO Pharma has invested €16 million in a new automated packaging facility at its Pritzwalk campus near Berlin, Germany.
  • The facility supports both bulk supply and private label options for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical softgels.

SIRIO Pharma, a global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), has announced a €16 million investment in a new packaging facility at its campus in Pritzwalk, near Berlin. This investment increases the total expenditure at the site to €19 million over the past five years.

The newly constructed facility features automated packaging lines designed for both bulk supply and private label services. It aims to streamline the transfer of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical softgels from adjacent manufacturing operations, all adhering to unified Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards approved for both human and veterinary products.

Key features of the facility include a high-speed bottling line capable of producing up to 5 million bottles annually and a second line that can fill 20 million blister packs each year. The site’s overall production capacity stands at 2 billion capsules per year. SIRIO’s advanced packaging lines are equipped with process-control technologies, ensuring rapid processing and delivery times as short as three weeks.

Sara Lesina, General Manager for SIRIO Europe & Americas, stated, “We have grown significantly in recent years and, as a result, have doubled down on investing in advanced manufacturing technology. With our state-of-the-art packaging facility, we now offer full-service, pharmaceutical-grade softgel development in Germany.” The new facility enhances SIRIO Pharma’s ability to provide comprehensive services, from research and development to final packaging, ensuring high-quality standards throughout the production process.
