Olon Group Acquires GTP Bioways to Boost Biologics CDMO Services

  • Olon Group acquires GTP Bioways to enhance its CDMO biotechnology services.
  • €25m investment in high containment facility to be finalised in Q3 2024.

Olon Group has announced the acquisition of GTP Bioways Group. This move aims to enhance Olon’s capabilities in supporting CDMO biotechnology projects, especially in early-stage molecule development.

Paolo Tubertini, CEO of Olon Group, stated, “The acquisition of GTP Bioways Group implies a strong and significant strengthening of Olon’s service pipeline with the aim of creating new business opportunities, acquiring new customers and high-potential market areas, and ultimately continuing the company’s growth.”

GTP Bioways Group is a French Biotech CDMO, operating four sites in France that specialise in R&D Services, process development and production of mAbs, enzymes, proteins, nanodrugs, ADCs and F&F.  The integration with Olon Biotech will expand and diversify technological offerings, supporting every stage from R&D to industrialisation.

Olon’s €25m investment in a high-containment facility dedicated to Ultra High Potent API and ADC development will be finalised in Q3 2024. This facility will leverage Olon’s four decades of experience in manufacturing cytotoxic products, ensuring stringent containment and safety standards.

Tubertini commented, “ADC class is highly promising and extremely challenging as well, as they require specific capabilities to handle different modalities with strict containment regulations.”
