Phlow Corp. Scales Up CDMO Infrastructure with Advanced Analytics and AI

• Phlow Corp. has expanded its Richmond, Virginia labs and now employs over 90 professionals.

• The company has adopted AI-driven MES and invested further in its Petersburg manufacturing site.

Phlow Corp., an American pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has announced a major expansion of its analytical laboratories, AI integration, and workforce in the United States.

The company has more than doubled in size and now includes over 90 scientists and professionals. The expansion enhances its infrastructure in Richmond, Virginia, and continues its investment in kilo-scale and metric-ton scale manufacturing in Petersburg, Virginia. According to the release, this growth reflects Phlow’s mission to create a more resilient, high-quality pharmaceutical supply chain based in the U.S.

New developments at its Richmond site include upgraded laboratories equipped with high-resolution mass spectrometry and advanced spectroscopy. These facilities will support comprehensive analytical services such as drug assay, impurity characterisation, and continuous flow process optimisation.

The company has also implemented an AI-powered Manufacturing Execution System (MES) from Apprentice. This technology aims to improve manufacturing speed, product quality, and scalability while supporting broader digital transformation goals.
