- Phosphorex has launched a Lipid Nanoparticle Innovation & Training Center in Hopkinton, MA.
- The center aims to enhance drug development projects by providing customers with access to advanced lipid nanoparticle (LNP) fabrication and purification technologies.
Phosphorex, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) focused on drug delivery, has announced the opening of its Lipid Nanoparticle Innovation & Training Center in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The centre aims to accelerate the success of clients’ drug development projects by leveraging Phosphorex’s lipid nanoparticle fabrication services alongside NOF’s proprietary ionizable lipid formulations.
The centre features multiple platforms for LNP fabrication and purification, including microfluidics, jet mixing, T-mixing, and tangential flow filtration. It is equipped with analytical capabilities to characterise the LNPs effectively. This comprehensive setup allows clients to optimise conditions for their specific therapies rapidly.
Jarlath Keating, CEO of Phosphorex, stated, “This collaboration is a natural extension of the Phosphorex and NOF partnership, bringing a physical solution to our current and future clients.” He added that the centre will help clients navigate the complexities of lipid chemistries and fabrication methods.
In addition to fabrication resources, the Innovation & Training Center offers training rooms, conference facilities, and workstations, promoting collaborative educational activities, including workshops and seminars. This environment aims to enhance technical collaborations and improve project outcomes for drug developers.
Yuji Yamamoto, General Manager of the Life Science division of NOF CORPORATION, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that it establishes a centre of excellence for LNP development. The partnership allows clients to access NOF’s extensive ionizable lipid library alongside Phosphorex’s formulation capabilities, enhancing their ability to select optimal LNP formulations for drug development.
