Thermo Fisher to Provide End-to-End Support for Lyndra’s Long-Acting Oral Therapies

  • Lyndra Therapeutics partners with Thermo Fisher Scientific for clinical research and manufacturing of its long-acting oral therapies.
  • The collaboration focuses on Lyndra’s weekly oral risperidone and leverages Thermo Fisher’s Accelerator Drug Development services.

Lyndra Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, has announced a strategic collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific to advance its long-acting oral therapies. This partnership will see Thermo Fisher providing clinical research and global commercial manufacturing services, supporting Lyndra’s innovative approach to oral drug delivery.

The collaboration highlights Lyndra’s LYN-005, a weekly oral risperidone designed to deliver medication with a single dose for up to a week. LYN-005 achieved its primary endpoint in the pivotal phase 3 STARLYNG-1 study, with a safety study planned for the first half of 2025.

Dr. Richard Scranton, President of Global Product Development and Chief Medical Officer at Lyndra, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating it offers the capabilities and scale needed to bring their therapies to broad markets. He emphasised Lyndra’s focus on R&D while Thermo Fisher ensures reliable manufacturing and trial operations.

Thermo Fisher’s Accelerator Drug Development programme provides a suite of services tailored for both emerging biotechs and established pharmaceutical companies. Lyndra will also utilise Thermo Fisher’s advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, including the LYNX drug delivery platform’s commercial line.

Michael Shafer, Executive Vice President at Thermo Fisher, remarked, “We look forward to helping bring these groundbreaking, long-acting oral therapies to patients.”
