Quasar Medical, a global manufacturer of minimally invasive and interventional devices, has announced it will acquire Nordson Corporation’s contract manufacturing businesses located in Galway, Ireland, and Tecate, Mexico. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
The acquisition marks a strategic expansion of Quasar’s global platform as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). The two facilities bring advanced capabilities in balloon and catheter design, rapid prototyping, and near-shore device assembly. Both sites are FDA-registered, ISO 13485 certified, and located in key MedTech regions.
“This is more than a bolt-on acquisition—it marks the next chapter for Quasar,” said Alex Wallstein, CEO of Quasar Medical. “We are now positioned to deliver fully integrated interventional solutions from concept to scale-up finished device.”
Post-acquisition, Quasar will operate 10 facilities across North America, Europe, Israel, and Asia, encompassing 800,000 square feet of manufacturing space and a workforce exceeding 4,200 employees. The sites will be fully integrated into the company’s CDMO platform, enhancing its ability to support OEMs with design-for-manufacturing, scalable production, and regional supply chain strategies.
